How to run an Instagram giveaway that helps your brand
A giveaway can bring many people to a page in a few days, but only a plan turns that attention into customers. These are the steps we follow when we plan giveaway campaigns, like the ones you can see in our work.
Choose one clear goal
Decide what the giveaway is for: more followers, more reach for a launch, or more enquiries. One goal keeps the rules, the prize and the content pointing in the same direction.
Pick a prize your real customers want
A prize that fits your business attracts people who may become customers. A prize anyone would want brings crowds who leave the day it ends. Choose something your product or service is close to.
Keep the rules simple
Use a few clear steps, such as follow, like and tag a friend. State the end date, how the winner is chosen and how they will be told. Follow the platform's promotion rules and the local law.
Make content worth sharing
A clear picture, a short message in your audience's language and a short video that explains the steps are enough. If people understand it in three seconds, more of them take part.
Announce the winner openly
Publish who won and how they were chosen, preferably with a short video or story. An open announcement builds trust and shows that the next giveaway is real too.
Keep the audience afterwards
The days after the giveaway matter most. Keep posting about your product or service, answer the new followers, and look at reach, new followers and enquiries to see what the giveaway really gave you.
