Social media management in Iraq: what it includes and how to choose an agency

Posting a few designs is not social media management. A good service plans what you say, designs and writes it in the languages your customers use, publishes it regularly, talks to your audience and tells you what worked. This guide explains each part so you can judge an offer before you sign.

Start with a goal, not a posting schedule

Decide what the pages must do: bring phone calls, fill a restaurant, sell a product or make a new brand known. A goal tells the agency which content to make and tells you how to measure it. Without one, followers and likes are the only numbers anyone can show you.

What a complete service includes

Look for six things: a content plan for the month; designed posts, stories and short videos; captions written for your audience; publishing on a schedule; replies to comments and messages; and a report that explains what worked and what changes next month.

Language matters in Iraq

Customers in Sulaimaniyah, Baghdad and Erbil do not all read the same way. Many brands need Kurdish (Sorani), Arabic and sometimes English, and the tone of each is different. Ask who writes in each language and ask to see examples.

Questions to ask an agency

Which platforms will you manage? How many posts and videos per month? Who answers messages, and how fast? Are paid ads included or separate? Who owns the accounts and the files if we stop? Ask for real examples for similar brands, not only a presentation.

What to prepare before you start

Your logo and colours, photos of your products or place, a list of your main offers, opening hours and contact details, and examples of pages you like. The more you give at the start, the sooner the content feels like your brand.

How long before results show

Social media builds over weeks, not days. Judge a plan after a few months of steady work, and compare messages, visits and sales with the goal you set at the start, not only followers.
